Hello, travel enthusiasts! Today, I want to share an unforgettable venture through the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where the bustling city of Seattle meets the tranquil shores of Bremerton, Washington. It was a trip brimmed with picturesque views, vibrant city life, and, most importantly, a heartwarming family moment as we welcomed my son's ship at the Kitsap Naval Base.

Where to Stay: Flagship Inn, Bremerton

Our stay at the Flagship Inn in Bremerton offered a delightful welcome. Although the decor could use a touch of modernity, the charm lay in its pristine cleanliness and that marvelous view of Oyster Bay right from our balcony. Waking up to serene waters and misty mornings was the perfect backdrop for our adventure.

Ferry Tales: Bremerton to Seattle

One of the most enchanting aspects of our trip was the daily ferry ride to Seattle. Catching the ferry was a breeze, with the ride into Seattle being completely free—what a bonus! A nominal fee on the return is a small price to pay for such a scenic and relaxing journey across Puget Sound, with the city skyline greeting us upon arrival.

Seattle's Must-Do's

In Seattle, our itinerary was packed with quintessential experiences:

  • Pike Place Market: A sensory delight, where the aroma of freshly cut flowers mingles with the salty sea air—a feast for both eyes and tastebuds.

  • Chihuly Garden and Glass: A mesmerizing exhibit of vibrant, intricate glasswork that's nothing short of magical.

  • Space Needle: No visit to Seattle is complete without a trip to this iconic landmark. The view from the top is spectacular, offering panoramic vistas of the city and surrounding mountains.

  • Seattle Aquarium: Perfect for families, offering engaging exhibits that explore the rich marine life of the Pacific Northwest.

Getting around was a breeze with Seattle's beloved Monorail, shuttling us seamlessly from the waterfront to the Space Needle and beyond.

Culinary Delights

Seattle's cuisine left us craving more with each bite. Here are my top picks:

  • Ivar's Clam Chowder: Creamy and comforting, perfect for those brisk Seattle days.

  • Beecher's Mac and Cheese: Indulgent and gooey, it's a must-try for any cheese aficionado.

  • Piroshky Piroshky: Satisfy your sweet tooth with their artisanal pastries—delectable with every bite!

Bonus: Waterfront Wonders

Lastly, don't miss a leisurely stroll along Seattle's waterfront. With cruise ships docking right in the heart of the city, we enjoyed spectacular ship-watching moments and breathtaking sunsets over Elliott Bay.

Each ferry ride, delicious meal, and Seattle icon contributed to an unforgettable journey—a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation. Whether you're there to welcome a ship or to create your own unique adventure, Bremerton and Seattle promise lasting memories.
